AP Assembly Election results: As Jagan Mohan Reddy receives wishes from celebrities, Ram Charan stands up for Pawan Kalyan, RGV mocks Chandrababu Naidu
Amid the Narendra Modi wave in the Lok Sabha elections, one could be forgiven for forgetting about the simultaneous announcement of the assemblies in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh. Out of the four, the results in Andhra Pradesh got some of the celebrities reacting to it. While Chief Minister-designate Jagan Mohan Reddy got congratulatory wishes, Ram Gopal Varma took on former CM Chandrababu Naidu. Ram Charan, meanwhile, came out in support of his uncle Pawan Kalyan.
Nagarjuna, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu and Lakshmi Manchu congratulated Reddy for YSR Congress' victory. The celebrities termed Reddy as ‘new and young chief minister', congratulated him for the ‘landslide victory’ and ‘well-deserved victory’ while hoping for a tenure of growth under his leadership.
The YSR Congress enjoyed a landslide victory, winning 151 assembly seats out of 175, while the former CM-Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP won just 23 seats. Even in the Lok Sabha, the former won all the 25 seats.
Ram Gopal Varma, who’s recent film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ had been embroiled in a controversy for allegedly showcasing Naidu in a negative light, took the opportunity to slam him.
The filmmaker tweeted, “May summer in AP has created many sun strokes but TDP got affected with only one son stroke.” He even shared a video of Naidu's lookalike serving tea at a shop.
However, Ram Charan supported his uncle Pawan Kalyan after his Jana Sena Party could win just one seat and the actor-politician also lost in both seats he was contesting, Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka.
The ‘RRR’ star posted on Facebook, “Great Leaders don’t set out to be a leader, they set out to make a difference!! It’s never about the ROLE It’s all about the GOAL!!! True efforts never go waste.I Thank each of our supporters for your unconditional service towards Pawan Kalyan garu and JanaSena Party #APElections2019🙏🏻”
