In a massive development ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader and elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav has resigned as the Convener of the party's student wing.
Taking to Twitter, Tej Pratap Yadav made the announcement with a tweet, saying "I put my resignation as the Convener of RJD Student Wing. Naive are those people who think I am naive. I know who's struggling at what level."
Ahead of the dramatic development, the RJD press briefing was cancelled after Tej Pratap Yadav threatened that he wants two seats for his proteges Angesh Singh from Sheohar district constituency and Chandraprakash from Jehanabad Lok Sabha seat. While his father Lalu Prasad Yadav and younger brother Tejaswi Yadav intervened in the matter, they feared that Tej Pratap will create problems during the press conference, sources have told Republic TV.
Tej Pratap's resignation comes days after the Rashtriya Janata Dal announced the list of its star campaigners ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The list included Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav among others as the top campaigners for the party in the state of Bihar.
There has been a sibling rivalry within Lalu Yadav's family which evidently came out in the open after sister Misa Bharti's name was missing from RJD star campaigners list.
