Either Mehbooba Mufti has a remarkable interest in pop culture or a younger person is tweeting from her social media account as on Friday, Mufti quote-tweeted PM Narendra Modi's comment about whether his government will take action against Dawood Ibrahim and Hafiz Saeed.
PM Modi had said: "Don't waste our time by taking names. If there will be any danger to the country, no matter where it might be - on land, in air, or even in space - we have taken steps, we will continue to take steps," he said.
Reacting to this, the PDP leader's account tweeted comparing PM Narendra Modi with Thanos, the super-villain from the movie Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
"Our very own B team of desi avengers. Although with his current demeanour, I’d say he’s more of a Thanos," said the tweet.
Earlier, Mufti had tweeted making yet another very specific pop culture reference. She tweeted comparing the Congress to Game of Thrones' character Bran.
Mufti had commented on Nirmala Sitharaman's statement to ANI where she said that several eminent Congress leaders had gone to Pakistan to seek help to oust Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "There have been eminent Congress leaders who’ve gone there to seek help to oust Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Sitharaman had said.
"What a vivid imagination. Yes, and the rest of the Cong leaders control the Pakistani establishment like Bran the warg from Game of Thrones," she tweeted.
Bran is one of the more famous characters from the show. He belongs to the Stark family which is one of the families central to the show's plot. He is a 'warg', meaning he possesses the power to enter the minds of animals and see the world through their senses and even control their actions.
