In a shocking development, JKNC chief Omar Abdullah has launched a scathing attack at his ally Congress party for neglecting Jammu and Kashmir during the 2019 General Elections campaigning. Taking to Twitter, the former J&K CM stated that 'there hasn't been a single election meeting by Congress leadership', which 'says a lot about the party and its approach towards the state'.

Omar Abdullah further gave a contrast of the number of rallies addressed by PM Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah in Jammu and Kashmir during the 2019 polls campaigning, saying that they may not have come to the valley, but 'they did not ignore the state'.

In another tweet, the Abdullah scion further asserted that the Congress has given 'walkover to the BJP party' in four of the six seats. Omar Abdullah later added that in three of the four seats Congress's opponent was BJP which the Grand Old Party has simply given a walkover.

While PM Modi and other BJP leaders have addressed a rally in Jammu and Kashmir on several occasion, the Congress party has kept its focus on Uttar Pradesh and party of Sourthern states only during their 2019 election campaigning.

In March 2019, the Farooq Abdullah-led National Conference and Congress sealed an alliance for three Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and while deciding to go for friendly contests on three other seats.
