Maharashtra Congress releases booklet listing "100 mistakes of Modi"
With the Lok Sabha elections approaching in less than two weeks, the Congress has launched another attack at BJP and PM Narendra Modi
With the Lok Sabha elections approaching in less than two weeks, the Congress has launched another attack at BJP and PM Narendra Modi.
On Friday, the Maharashtra Congress released a 100 page document called "BJP's Shishupal - 100 mistakes of Modi"
The document compares PM Modi to Mahabharat's character "Shishupal" who was slayed by Lord Krishna for committing over 100 mistakes. The character, as per the most known narration, was allowed to make 100 mistakes by Lord Krishna. Upon his 101st mistake, he was slained by Lord Krishna.
In its document, the party lists the Rafale deal, GST, Demonetisation and not working for farmers as PM Modi's mistakes during his five-year term.
Both BJP and Congress have upped their strategy as the D-day for the polls get nearer.
A recent maneover by the Congress to appeal to its voter base was make manifesto promise called NYAY scheme.
Earlier in March, Congress president Rahul Gandhi had announced NYAY scheme which doles out Rs 72,000/year minimum income guarantee promise for the weakest 20% of India's poor families.
P Chidambaram tweeted saying 20% of the poor households will be given financial assistance of Rs. 6000 per month, to every household. This would amount to the poorest 20% getting Rs 72,000 per year.
PM Modi laughed off the idea by the grand old party during his mega-rally in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut stating how the ones who couldn't get bank accounts opened will deposit money in the banks.
Mayawati too sided with the BJP on its view that the Congress scheme entailed a redux of the 1970s 'Garibi Hatao' slogan and called it a bluff. However, she then trained her guns on both the national parties, asking the BJP whether reneging on poll promises it its sole domain.
