2019 Lok Sabha Election Results for Manipur: NDA bags one of the two seats, UPA nil
In the North-eastern state of Manipur, out of the 2 Lok Sabha seats, one is reserved for scheduled tribes while the other in unreserved. In 2014, the state elected the Congress on both the seats.
The biggest day for the largest democracy in the world is here as results of the 17th Lok Sabha elections have been announced.

The NDA won one seat and Others won the second seat.
During the assembly elections in 2017, a BJP-led coalition government had come to power. For the Manipur assembly, which has 60 seats constitutes of 21 BJP MLAs, four from the Naga People's Front (NPF), four from the NPP, one each from LJP, AITC and Independent.
Recent political developments:
On May 18, the NPF withdrew its support to the coalition. The BJP continued to have majority seats in the assembly.
Eight of 28 Congress MLAs who had won in the polls had defected to BJP in 2017. BJP and Congress are fighting alone in the Lok Sabha polls without allies.
Key battle:
Inner Manipur has been the BJP's stronghold from 1996 until 2004 when Congress won the seat. The Congress had won the Outer Manipur seat in 2009.
Exit poll prediction:
According to the CVoter predictions, the verdict from Lok Sabha 2014 was projected to change in favor of BJP who are projected to grab both the seats of this north-eastern state. While Jan Ki Baat predicted 1 seat for both BJP and Congress.
