AAP's East Delhi candidate Atishi Marlena launched a scathing attack her contender from BJP Gautam Gambhir after the crickter-turned-politician asked for 2.25 years for a debate from Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Addressing a rally in Delhi, Gautam Gambhir challenged Arvind Kejriwal for an open debate asking for half of 4.5 years of the Delhi CM's active years in politics, which comes to 2.25 years. Responding to this statement by the BJP candidate, Atishi hit out at Gambhir and asked him to fight the election after 2.25 years only after completely preparing himself.
Taking to Twitter, the AAP leader wrote, "Gautam Gambhir is saying that he needs 2.25 years to prepare for the debate. So you take 2.25 years to fight the elections. First prepare yourself completely".
Gautam Gambhir invited Arvind Kejriwal for a debate on an open platform while addressing a rally in Shastri Park. Stating that while Arvind Kejriwal has been in politics for more than four years, he has been in active politics for four days only, Gambhir asked for half of Arvind Kejriwal's tenure to prepare for the debate.
"Over the last 2-3 day, talks are high that I am scared of debate. When I did not get scared of Pakistan, how can I get scared of debate. Some people have been talking that I got scared of debate. So now, through the medium of this platform, I challenge the chief of Aam Aadmi Party that you took 4.5 years and I have been active in politics for 4.5 days. He must give me half of 4.5 years in this politics, then the date and place will be decided by him," said the BJP leader
