As the election date draws nearer for the Lok Sabha polls in the national capital, independent candidate from Bengaluru Prakash Raj has extended his support for AAP's Atishi Marlena. He also said that he will be campaigning for her in Delhi.

Taking to Twitter, Raj said that people should vote for Marlena because she is the citizen's voice. He added that Parliament needs people like her and 'we must vote for our future'.

Few days ago, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal also took to Twitter to extend best wishes to the political leader on his debut electoral foray. He regarded Raj as being 'amongst the few people who have had the courage to publicly speak the right thing'.

Here’s what his tweet read:

East Delhi awaits a mouthwatering contest as Marlena is contesting against the newly cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir of BJP and Congress candidate Arvinder Singh Lovely.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not been able to seal a deal with the Congress party in the state, accusing it of playing "spoilsport" in alliance talks and "being unfair" by not giving them any seat in Punjab and asking for too many seats in Delhi.

Prakash Raj has also extended his support for CPI candidate and former JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar and is campaigning for him in Bihar's Begusarai.

Voting in 14 seats of Karnataka is taking place on April 23 and Delhi goes to polls on May 12. Lok Sabha Elections are being held in seven phases on:  April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
