On the day of the 'dhai kilo ka hath' speech by newly inducted BJP member and party's candidate from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency Sunny Deol, former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has mocked the leader along with his father who contested the election from Bikaner Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan and his step-mother Hema Malini who is contesting from Mathura Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh.
Taking to Twitter, Vishwas said that the way Dharmendra from Bikaner and Hema Malini from Mathura strengthened the democracy, similarly, Deol has joined the poll fray to strengthen the democracy. He compared Sunny's decision to contest Lok Sabha elections to his last movie called 'Singh Sahab' in 2013, which was a flop on the box office.
He wrote: "The way in which Dharmendra ji in Bikaner and Hema Malini ji in Mathura strengthened our democracy, in the same way like his last movie 'Bhai Sahab', Sunny Deol has joined the poll fray from Gurdaspur to strengthen it. We and our Democracy probably deserves this."
While Hema Malini is contesting the Lok Sabha polls 2019 from Mathura(UP), Dharmendra had a brief period in politics when he contested from Bikaner in Rajasthan in 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier in the day, Sunny Deol spoke in Punjabi to the people of Gurdaspur, urging them to vote in huge numbers in the Lok Sabha elections. He went onto enunciate his famous dialogue from the Bollywood movie 'Gadar', saying "Ye dhai kilo ka haath jis par padhta hai, wo banda uthta nhi, uth jata hai".
In the run up to the 2019 elections, Dharmendra also campaigned for his wife Hema Malini, following which Malini called it a 'special day'.
