Following the scathing remark of National Conference chief Omar Abdullah on its ally Congress of neglecting Jammu and Kashmir during the 2019 General Elections campaigning, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has reiterated his stance. In what may be called as an embarrassment to the Congress party, its ally in the J & K slammed the party saying that 'there hasn't been a single election meeting by Congress leadership'.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday morning, Abdullah compared the number of rallies addressed by PM Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah in Jammu and Kashmir during the 2019 polls campaigning, adding that they may not have come to the valley, but 'they did not ignore the state'. Minutes after his tweet Kejriwal who has been trying to seal an alliance with the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party in Delhi retweeted his Abdullah's remark.
In March 2019, National Conference and Congress sealed an alliance for three Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and while deciding to go for friendly contests on three other seats. Abdullah's tweet asserted that the Congress has given 'walkover to the BJP party' in four of the six seats.
Here's what it reads:
In an effort to seal an alliance in Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections 2019, Twitter-plead and denial game between Arvind Kejriwal led-Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) and Rahul Gandhi-led Congress caught attention. Both the leaders have made failed attempts to come to a consensus over a deal for the alliance.
