Two days after Ravindra Jadeja's father and sister joined the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party in Gujarat in run up to the Lok Sabha polls, the cricketer extended support to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, with his wife having had joined the saffron party only days earlier.

Few months after joining the Karni Sena, Rivaba, wife of Ravindra Jadeja, was inducted into the BJP in Gujarat on March 3 in the presence of state Agriculture Minister R C Faldu and MP Poonam Madam.
