With the dates for the all-important Lok Sabha polls now announced, the various political parties and the citizens of India have complete clarity on exactly when the country will once again undertake the largest exercise in democracy anywhere in the world.
To present a snapshot projection of where the various parties stand at the moment in different states, Republic TV and CVoter have published the National Approval Ratings which present a complete picture of what would happen if elections are held today.
Below is the trend seen in Mizoram for the month of March:
Mizoram, which was one of the five states where assembly elections were held in 2018, has just one seat, and the present ruling party in the state, Mizo National Front (MNF), is projected to win it. The Congress-led UPA and BJP-led NDA aren't projected to win even a single seat in the state.
Vote share for the state:
NDA: 5.2%
UPA: 38.8%
MNF: 44.2%
Others: 11.8%
Projections from the month of January:
The MNF was projected to win the one seat leaving nothing for UPA and NDA. The MNF is projected to reign supreme with a vote share of 45.3%, while the UPA is projected to end up getting 38.8% votes. The NDA is only expected to win a mere 5% seats, which is not even half of what Others are projected.
Projections from the month of December:
MNF: Barely anything is projected to change for the MNF when compared to December edition of NAR. They are projected to retain the one and only seat while relinquishing 0.4% votes.
UPA: Just like the MNF, there seems to be no different in the projection for UPA. A 0.3% increase in vote share is the projection for the Congress-led alliance in the state of Mizoram.
