The surging political vehemance has now outstretched to Bollywood as well, as celebrities could be seen indulging in politics either by directly plunging into the electoral process or by campaigning for their desired candidates.
Having said that, actress Swara Bhaskar, a staunch supporter of Begusarai's CPI (M) candidate Kanhaiya Kumar has retaliated to veteran actor Anupam Kher's unnamed tweet from Sunday.
In a tweet, the Accidental Prime Minister actor, without specifying any name said that 'I've heard a member from Tukde Tukde Gang is contesting elections from Begusarai. The one who can not be of his country, how can he be yours?'
To which, Bhasker in response pointed out that Kher has probably mistaken Begusarai for Bhopal and is in fact speaking of BJP's terror accused Bhopal candidate, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur.
In her tweet she reponded saying, "Sir, I think you are talking about BJP's Bhopal candidate Pragya Thakur. Rightly said, the one who can't be for your country, who tried to break the country by conducting a terror attack, how could be for Bhopal or the Parliament. Jai Hind"
Thakur is among seven accused facing trial in Malegaon blast case, in which six people were killed and a dozen others were injured when a bomb placed on a motorcycle exploded in Maharashtra's Malegaon on September 29, 2008.
While Anupam Kher stands opposing the CPI (M) candidate, noted poet and Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar was photographed by his wife Shabana Azmi campaigning for Kanhaiya Kumar, the candidate contesting from Begusarai.
Before Javed Akhtar, actor Prakash Raj also campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar. Sharing pictures from his rally.
Along with Swara Bhaskar who gave her first political speech in support of the JNU student, currently charged with sedition.
