Abusing Sanatana Dharma bound to have consequences: Venkatesh Prasad on Congress' defeat
Earlier, PM Modi slammed DMK's Dayanidhi for comparing Sanatan Dharma to several diseases and questioned the silence of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi.
Hours after BJP's win across three major states in the Hindi heartland became evident, former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad on Sunday, congratulating the saffron party, hit out at the Congress and the INDI alliance, blaming their anti-Sanatana Dharma stance as the biggest reason for their downfall in three out of four big states, for which the elections results were declared today.
Taking to Twitter, Prasad wrote, "Abusing Sanatana Dharma was bound to have it’s consequences. Many congratulations to the BJP for a landslide victory. Just another testimony of the amazing leadership of Prime Minister @narendramodi ji & @AmitShah & great work by the party cadre at grassroot levels #ElectionResults"
In the lead up to the big elections, several top BJP leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda, trained their guns at Tamil Nadu CM Stalin's son Dayanidhi over comparing Sanatan Dharma to several diseases and questioned the silence of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, calling the Congress-led Indi alliance 'anti-Sanatani.'
"The 'Indi alliance,' an arrogant alliance, held a meeting in Mumbai on September 1. On September 3, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin, whose party DMK is a key partner of the alliance, disrespected Sanatan Dharma by linking it with serious diseases. He left no stone unturned in disrespecting Sanatan Dharma in every way," Nadda was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
