Union Minister Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has slammed the Congress party for the shocking and shameful statement made by the Rahul Gandhi-led party's BK Hariprasad who followed up days of Congress leaders questioning the IAF over the efficacy of strike on Pakistan's terror camps by claiming there was "match-fixing" between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan over the Pulwama terror attack and what happened in its aftermath.
Taking to Twitter, Col Rathore has said, "When doubting the IAF didn't work, Congress stoops lower by insulting our heroes & indirectly calling India a terror state."
He followed that up by referring to statements made by Congress leaders over the past few weeks and days which have come to make headlines in Pakistan and have even been quoted by the Imran Khan government to peddle its agenda.
"Mr Hariprasad, YOUR leaders peddle ISI version of events & their statements get printed in Pak media."
Finally, writing in Hindi, the Minister says "You are insulting our country and its brave soldiers".
Earlier in the day, in perhaps the most condemnable statement among the many made by various political leaders in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack (including Digvijaya Singh calling the attack an 'accident' and Navjot Singh Sidhu asking 'Had you gone there to uproot trees or uproot terrorism?'), Congress leader BK Hariprasad, while citing union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad's taking on of Rahul Gandhi over Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi quoting the Congress president, had said the following:
"Ravi Shankar Prasad should clarify whether there's any match-fixing between Pakistan and Mister Narendra Modi. Or else, without their knowledge, this Pulwama incidence would not have taken place. If you look at the chain of events that has taken place after Pulwama, it looks like Narendra Modi had a match-fixing with the Pakistan people."
This isn't the first time Col Rathore has called out those questioning the forces in such a manner, though earlier, his video statement had been more of an appeal calling for unity:
