BJP wins four seats in Gujarat as first results declared
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Mahesana and Junagadh Lok Sabha constituencies in Gujarat as the Election Commision of India declared early results of the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday evening.
H S Patel won from Ahmedabad East by a margin of 4.61 lakh votes, Dinesh Makwana won from Ahmedabad West by 2.86 lakh votes, Haribhai Patel won from Mahesana by 3.28 lakh votes and Rajesh Chudasama won from Junagadh by 1.35 lakh votes. All of them defeated their nearest Congress rivals.

Parshottam Rupala all set to win from Rajkot LS seat in Gujarat
BJP leader and Union minister Parshottam Rupala has gained a comfortable lead of more than 4.65 lakh votes in Gujarat's Rajkot Lok Sabha seat over his nearest Congress rival Paresh Dhanani. Rupala has so far received 8,22,362 votes, while Dhanani, a former Congress MLA, got 3,52,373 votes.

As per the latest trends available on the website of Election Commission, the BJP is leading in 22 seats in Gujarat. While the Congress is leading in 3 seats.
BJP leader Amit Shah is ahead on Gandhinagar seat, while Mansukh Mandaviya is leading from Porbandar. Congress candidate Geniben Thakor was ahead on Banaskantha seat, leaving behind her BJP rival Rekha Chaudhary. In Sabarkantha, Congress candidate and tribal leader Tushar Chaudhary was leading in early trends.

Counting to begin at 8am
The counting of votes will be held from 8 am on Tuesday at 26 centres across Gujarat amid three-tier security arrangements. Polling for 25 out of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat were held in a single phase on May 7.
More than 250 candidates contested the polls, which witnessed 60.13 per cent voter turnout.
