'I Want to Warn People For...': Congress' Channi Attacks AAP on Last Polling Day
This comes as all 13 seats in Punjab go to polls today, June 1, in phase 7. The polling began at 7 am and will conclude at 6 am.
Amritsar: On the last polling day of the Lok Sabha elections, former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress candidate Charanjit Singh Channi launched a scathing attack at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the state alleging that the party is spreading false propaganda.
"Aam Aadmi Party and BJP are spreading false propaganda. Yesterday BJP posted about Dera Ballan that Dera Ballan supports them, which Dera Ballan has denied and said that if they spread false propaganda like this then they will file an FIR. Dera Ballan has made it clear that they do not support BJP... I thank Baba J," Channi said.
The Congress leader further urged and warned people in the state to not fall for such propaganda.
"Aam Aadmi Party has started spreading false propaganda... I want to warn people not to fall for such propaganda," he said.
Further exuding confidence in the team for winning the elections, Channi said, "And wherever I am going, people are congratulating me and we are going to win in large numbers. I thank the people of Jalandhar who have accepted me."
This comes as all 13 seats in Punjab go to polls today, June 1, in phase 7. The polling began at 7 am and will conclude at 6 am.
In the first two hours of the polling as of 9 am, Punjab recorded a voter turnout of 9.64 per cent.
Chandigarh, the lone seat recorded a turnout of 11.64 per cent. Meanwhile, Ferozepur, Amritsar, Anandpur Sahib and Hoshiarpur recorded a turnout of 11.61 per cent, 7.22 per cent, 9.53 per cent and 9.66 per cent respectively.
Early voters, including elders, women, and youngsters, queued at several polling stations to exercise their franchise.
Among those who cast their votes early were Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, state BJP chief Sunil Jakhar, AAP leader Raghav Chadha, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, AAP candidate Malvinder Singh Kang, BJP candidate Taranjit Singh Sandhu, SAD candidate Anil Joshi, AAP candidates Karamjit Singh Anmol and Laljit Bhullar and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
