New Delhi: In alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) became the kingmaker in helping the BJP-led alliance to win a majority in the Lok Sabha elections.
On Sunday, the NDA announced its new Cabinet, with PM Narendra Modi taking oath as the new PM for the third consecutive term in India. The newly-elected Modi Cabinet 2.0, includes 72 ministers including several new faces. The list includes a list of two TDP leaders- Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani.
Who is Ram Mohan Naidu?
From being a young promising leader to the 'youngest-ever Central Cabinet Minister,' Ram Mohan Naidu's journey shows a blend of loyalty for his party. At the age of 37, Ram Mogan who took oath as a cabinet Minister on Sunday is an MP from the Srikakulam Lok Sabha constituency.
He is the son of the late TDP leader K Yerran Naidu. He did his schooling at Delhi Public School, and studied engineering at Purdue University USA, followed by a postgraduate degree in MBA from Long Island. His hobbies include photography, he is also an avid sports enthusiast, with a fondness for basketball and cricket.
He first entered parliament in 2014, contesting from the Srikakulam constituency and became the second youngest MP in the 16th Lok Sabha at the age of 26. Ram Mohan since then has been contesting from the same seat.
Who is Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani?
The richest MP in Modi cabinet, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani has sworn in as a minister of state on Sunday. Before the Lok Sabha elections, Pemmasani declared the highest asset among all 8,930 candidates in the fray with a worth of Rs 5,705 crore.
Hailing from a rural area, Pemmasani is a 48-year-old doctor-entrepreneur-politician, a graduate of Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad and completed his post-graduation (MD in Internal medicine) from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville in US Pennsylvania.
He started working with TDP in 2010. Ever since then, he stuck with TDP through thick and thin and always remained in the good books of party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and no wonder, he has now secured a ministerial berth in the Union Cabinet.
