New Delhi: Amid the ongoing seat-sharing tussle between the Samajwadi Party and the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday cleared his stance and said "there is no place for sacrifice in politics."

He made it clear that his party would go to polls solo if their 5-seat demand for the polls is not met by the state-level alliance. He, however, said that the SP will contest on seats where their party is active and have a mass base.

Upon being asked seat-sharing deal for Maharashtra polls, the SP supremo said, "There is no place for sacrifice in politics. If we are not getting seats in the alliance, then Samajwadi party will fight alone on those seats where we have an organization and mass base."

He clarified that their selection of seats will not harm the alliance.

Highlighting party's firm stance on contesting the polls, Yadav said "I am the one who is being ignored. Ask the one who is ignoring. We will go in a way so that our party solidarity is not tampered with."
