Announcing the much-awaited dates for Assembly elections 2022 across five states, the Election Commission of India on Saturday issued a detailed schedule of voting in the five poll-bound states including Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Uttrakhand, Goa, and Punjab. As per the official schedule given by the Election Commission, the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held in seven phases starting from February 10 till March 7, 2022. Further, the counting of votes will take place on March 10, the EC noted.
Notably, voting for the UP elections 2022 will start from the western region initially and later will progress towards the east during the seven phases. Also, with a total of 1,74,351 polling stations across the state, more than 15 crore voters are expected to cast their vote this year.
UP elections 2022 polling dates & constituencies
Talking about phase-wise polls, voting in the first phase will take place on February 10 followed by the second phase which will be conducted on February 14. Similarly, the third phase will be conducted on February 20, the fourth phase on February 23, the fifth phase on February 27, the sixth phase on March 3, and finally the seventh and last phase on March 7.

Parties gearing up ahead of UP Polls 2022
While the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are gearing up for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also eyeing to return back for a second term in the state. Concerning the state, CM Adityanath under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been actively spearheading BJP's election campaign in the poll-bound state.
