The fact that Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is one of the most-loved films of Hindi cinema, can be explained by the fact that it is still running in a Mumbai theatre, even after 24 years. There are numerous iconic scenes in the movie, be it the when Amrish Puri lets Simran (Kajol) go and catch the train and unite with Aryan (Shah Rukh Khan) or the dialogue, ‘Palat’, many other moments are still fresh in the minds of almost every Hindi cinema lover. However, there are many other aspects of the movie that only those who’ve watched it multiple times can recollect. One of them is Kajol wearing glasses and having a book in her hand on the poster or that scene in the train where Raj flirts with Simran in the train as she tries to read. As the iconic film completed 24 years on Saturday, Kajol chose to recreate this aspect about the film, sharing that her glasses and the love for reading were still an important part of her life even today.
Kajol on Saturday shared a video on social media where she is seated on a platform, dressed in a mustard-coloured top and black pants. She is then seen taking her glasses out and starting to read. The actor captioned the post, “Still got the specs & still reading even after 24 years. #24YearsOfDDLJ.”

The movie is still running at the Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai. One can still watch the movie at the theatre for the 11.30am show.
On the professional front, Kajol was last seen in Helicopter Eela, where she had played the role of an overprotective mother.
