The film helmed by Rajkumar Hirani shows Dutt as a medical student, who is keen on spreading laughter, cheer and shows very little interest in education, yet tops every exam. The movie is based on the father-daughter relationship and has too many twists and turns. The movie tells the story of a father, who to avenge the rape of his daughter knocks the doors of courts and is ultimately turned down. The father-daughter duo then takes the law into their hands and fight the evils of the society. The movie didn't perform at the box office, but Dutt's acting was appreciated by critics.
