Aamir Khan is known to be 'a perfectionist' in his work - a description that has stuck for some time now. However, his last release was Vijay Krishna Acharya's much-hyped Thugs Of Hindostan and didn't strike a chord at the box office. The actor spoke to a daily about the criticism and backlash and took responsibility for the output of the film that he had worked in. The film featured veteran superstar Amitabh Bachchan, actors Katrina Kaif and Dangal fame Fatima Sana Sheikh in an action-adventure set in late 18th century India.
Aamir Khan stated that he was sorry for not giving his audience the entertainment that was promised before the release of Thugs Of Hindostan last year. The actor, who will next be seen in an adaptation of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump, said that the failure of the film compelled him to address the sentiments of his audience. Aamir khan accepted that he was hurt and upset for not living up to the audience's expectations with Thugs Of Hindostan.
Love for the script
Apart from this, the actor also revealed that he has no defined mantra for signing any film. He claimed that he embarks on a film solely on his instincts despite what others tell him. The actor recalled the time when he signed up for Taare Zameen Par and was told that it won't work. Aamir Khan also stated that a film's success quotient seldom depends on the money that is put into its production and that the content of the film is what keeps the audience interested.
Aamir Khan will feature in Advait Chandan's Laal Singh Chaddha as the eponymous character based on Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump. The film is slated to release on Christmas next year. Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen opposite Aamir Khan in this film where he plays the role of a Sikh named Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is currently being shot in Chandigarh.
