Raveena Tandon took to Twitter to reply to a troll who claimed that it is quite easy for celebrities to tweet and get publicity as they don't have to travel in 'dusty conditions', and they live a life 'king size'. The tweet further suggested that the socialities 'first get into austerity mode and then preach on behalf of the common man'. Responding to it the actress stated that no one is against the metro and that it is 'most welcome and needed'. In another tweet, she also said, "Mumbai will fight till the end for their forests. Even tho politics and power will win, but not without trying". Read below-
For the uneducated - NO ONE IS AGAINST THE METRO. The metro is MOST WELCOME AND NEEDED. JUST CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR PARKING LOT. IS ALL WHAT MUMBAIKARS ARE ASKING . https://t.co/9sNcBTWr0S

Section 144 imposed at Aarey
Earlier on Saturday, Section 144 was imposed in the area from the entrance into Aarey to Marol Maroshi Road. Protests in the Aarey colony broke out after the authorities from Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) started cutting trees in the area following Bombay High Court's dismissal of all petitions challenging the felling of trees.
Bollywood celebs on Aarey:
Meanwhile actors in the likes of Twinkle Khanna, Dia Mirza, and Richa Chadha have protested against the felling of trees. Twinkle, retweeted a post of Karan Johar to which a user named Sahil criticised her lifestyle and said: Hey Twinkle, Karan stop using your SUVs and start using local trains before preaching about the environment... okay?". Responding to this, Mrs. Funnybones gave it back in crisp clear words and said that she was on the streets to plant trees with her group.
Hey Sahil,we are all guilty of guzzling resources that the planet can ill afford but I stood on the streets with my group @rastaachaap planted hundreds of saplings, got help from the neighbourhood, nurtured them so they survived&grew into fine trees.Start planting then squeak..ok? https://t.co/42KD6Mggln

Dia Mirza, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt too chimed in and expressed their views against the massacre of trees. Take a look below-
400 trees have been cut in the dead of the night. As citizens sang and joined hands in unity pleading to STOP this massacre. Can’t you see they are UNITED by love!?! Love for nature. Love for our children and our future. #Aarey #ClimateAction #ActNow #ChangeIsComing pic.twitter.com/7XCwSeaqDT

Massacre is what this is! We are our own worst enemy! Infrastructure can never precede nature! We need to STOP! #SaveAarey

There's always been a conflict between development & conservation. Yes, the city needs to build infrastructure to support a growing population. But the city also needs trees & parks & greenery. We need to protect nature like life depends on it. Because it does.#LetMumbaiBreathe
