Abhishek Bachchan is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Ghoomer. In the film, he portrays the role of a cricket coach. While promoting R Balki's directorial, the actor also shared his thoughts about his family's involvement in the film industry.

Abhishek Bachchan on Jaya Bachchan's comeback on silver screen

During a conversation with Instant Bollywood about his mother Jaya Bachchan's performance in the recently released film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Abhishek Bachchan revealed that watching his mother on screen is always an "emotional" experience for him. He said that he finds it challenging to view his mother's acting objectively, unlike his father's work. He added that the emotional connection he has with her acting prevents him from being an impartial judge of her performances.

"It’s always emotional. With my father, I am able to view his work as an actor, but with my mother I can’t. So I am a terrible judge of her work because for me, that’s maa. So I can’t disassociate that emotion," he said.

Abhishek Bachchan elaborated on how he can comfortably assess his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and father Amitabh Bachchan's performances as individual actors, but when it comes to his mother, he is unable to disentangle the deep emotional ties. He candidly expressed his inability to evaluate her work in an unbiased manner.

Opening up about his family's acting journeys, the actor expressed his desire to see both his wife Aishwarya and his mother Jaya Bachchan take on more roles. He acknowledged their significant contributions to cinema but also believed that there's much more they can offer. He called himself  a "devoted fan" of their work and wished to witness their continued growth in the industry.

"One thing I can say to the two ladies in my family is I hope and I pray that do more work because as viewers of cinema, both Aishwarya and mom have already contributed so much. They have so much more to give now. It’s such an exciting time," the Ghoomer actor said.
