Ajith's next with Boney Kapoor begins with puja, Janhvi Kapoor reacts

Boney Kapoor fulfilled a promise made to his late wife, legendary actor Sridevi, when he signed Tamil superstar Ajith for Nerkonda Paarvaai, the official Tamil remake of Pink. The producer, however, is not just sticking to his promise, but also continuing this association with another venture. The actor-producer duo is joining hands once again for the former’s 60th film.  The movie, formerly known as AK 60 till it found a name, has finally been titled as Valimai. A puja for the movie was held in Chennai as it went on floors recently. Even Janhvi Kapoor expressed her excitement for the same and wished her father for the new journey.

Valimai not just brings together Ajith and Boney Kapoor, but a partnership of trio with director H Vinoth also signing the project. While Ajith was missing from the rituals, Boney and Vinoth were present for the auspicious start to the event. Several pictures from the puja surfaced, with the production banner Bayview Projects also sharing the snaps on their official handle. Boney, Vinoth and the other technicians were seen with garlands on their necks and even the video camera was blessed for the occasion. The producer-director duo is also seen performing rituals in front of Sridevi’s garlanded photograph, and that’s how the production house announced the news, “With the blessings of  @SrideviBKapoor Madam, The pooja of #AK60 , hence forth titled #Valimai happened in Chennai today. A @ZeeStudios_@bayviewprojects presentation.”

Janhvi Kapoor, too, was delighted with the news. She shared a snap of her father, as he kept the clapboard of the movie at the puja platform. She captioned it, “Congratulations Papa.” Not much is known about the story of Valimai, but it’d be interesting to see what the team brings out this time.

Nerkonda Paarvaai 

Nerkonda Paarvaai had released on August 8. the movie also starred Shraddha Srinath, Abirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang, apart from a cameo from Vidya Balan. The movie was critically acclaimed, with Ajith rightly walking away with the praises for the movie. The courtroom drama also did well at the box office. Ajith had played the role of a lawyer, played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original.
