1. Akshay Kumar is a Canadian
Akshay Kumar has both Indian and Canadian passports. He was awarded honorary citizenship by the Government of Canada and hence carries Canadian citizenship as well.
2. The reason behind his nickname, Khiladi Kumar
Akshay is almost the only one Bollywood actor to have worked in 8 films that contain the word Khiladi in their title. The films being Khiladi, Khiladi 786, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, Main Khiladi Tu Anadi, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Khiladi 420 and International Khiladi. Hence, the nickname, Khiladi Kumar.
3. His own Martial Arts documentary
Akshay Kumar hosted a Martial Arts documentary for the National Geographic Channel. The show was titled Seven Deadly Arts with Akshay Kumar.
4. An appearance in Aaj
Before stardom took over for Akshay Kumar, he had a blink-and-miss appearance in a Mahesh Bhatt film. The film was titled Aaj and Kumar played the role of a Martial Arts trainer in the film.
5. He nearly broke his neck in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi
Kumar nearly broke his neck while shooting for the film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. Since he does his own stunts, this incident happened when he was trying to lift the 350-pound WWE champion, Undertaker, for a scene in the film.
6. Donated Proceedings from a Punjabi devotional song
He shot for the Punjabi song, Nirgun Raakh Liya’s music video and donated all of his proceedings to the victims of train bombings of Mumbai in 2006. Not only this, but Akshay is also known to be involved in various charities. The actor even donated ₹ 2 crores for the Assam floods this year.
