Akshay Kumar had reportedly revealed in an interview that he does not understand the negativity surrounding his citizenship and that he never hid the fact that he owns a Canadian passport. Akshay Kumar further revealed that he does not live in Canada and has been living and paying all his taxes in India. While some supported him during this controversy, he also received some criticism from others.

Akshay Kumar was seen in the 1996 film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. The song, ‘In The Night No Control' from the film which featured Akshay Kumar and senior actor Rekha sparked a huge controversy amongst the viewers.
