Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon give shout out to each other after maiden National Award win

Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon won top honours at the 69th National Film Award, announced on August 24. Both actresses won their maiden National Film Awards in the Best Actress category. While Alia won the honour for her role in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kriti bagged the award for her role in Mimi. After the announcement, both took to their social media accounts to congratulate each other.

Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon were declared joint winners at the 69th National Film Awards ceremony. Both actresses took to their social media accounts to react to their wins. In their note, they made a mention of each other. Kriti shared a note of gratitude for her big win and mentioned that she was “excited” to share the "huge moment" with Alia.

A part of Kriti's note read, “Congratulations Alia! So so well deserved! I’ve always admired your work and I’m too excited that I get to share this huge moment with you!”

Alia Bhatt also took to her Instagram handle to express her gratitude after bagging the honour. She posted a photo in her signature Gangubai style donning white clothes. She joined her hands over her head in a namaste. Mentioning Kriti, the Highway actress noted that her win is “well deserved”.

Alia Bhatt wrote in the caption, “P.S - Kriti .. I remember messaging you the day I saw Mimi .. it was such an honest and powerful performance.. I cried and cried.. ” She went on to call her a star who should continue to "shine on". She concluded the note by saying, “the world is your oyster”.
