Alia Bhatt is currently one of Bollywood’s most popular female actors. She made her debut with Karan Johar’s 2012 film Student of the Year. It is said that she did not get the role easily. When she first auditioned for the role, Karan, reportedly, told her that she did not have the right body shape for the role and that she needed to lose 20Kgs for it. And Alia did just that, losing 16Kgs in just six months. Here is how Alia managed to shed the extra kilos.

In an interview with a publication, Alia talked about her weight loss journey. The first thing she mentioned was that she always wanted to be an actor. When she had the opportunity to finally play a lead role in Student of the Year, she was ecstatic. However, when Karan Johar commented on her weight she was hurt and disappointed. But she did not give up on her dream and instead decided to lose weight. Alia was initially chubby and was overweight for her height and age. With her dedication and desire for becoming an actor, she managed to work hard and lose 16Kgs in six months. She finally got the role of Shanaya in Student of the Year.

Alia Bhatt's diet

One of the main aspects of any weight loss regime is to have a proper diet. For her weight loss journey, Alia reportedly only ate healthy and organic food. Reports add that she had to give up all of her favourite food and dedicate herself to the diet. In an interview, she said that she had a personal trainer who only let her eat chicken and vegetables and nothing else.

Workout routine     

Reports suggest that to lose weight, Alia had to work out almost every single day. Working out is a necessity to lose weight as well as to become fit. It seems that Alia had set a workout routine, with each day having a different focus and a different set of exercises. Furthermore, she reportedly still follows a similar workout schedule to this day to keep herself fit.

On the work front, Alia will next appear in Brahmastra where she will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and will be a fantasy movie. Brahmastra will release on December 25, 2019.
