Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is 4th highest-grosser of 2023

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani hit the big screen on August 28 and has crossed Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office after a month of its release. The Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer has managed to sustain competition from several new releases to emerge as a box office success. After its fourth weekend wound up, the film’s total collection stood at Rs 149.75 crore, according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala.

Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani sustains competition 

Opened to Rs 11.1 crore, according to Sacnilk, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani only showed growth on subsequent days and emerged as a bonafide success at the box office. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to his X account to share the latest collection of the film. He opined that the family drama is “performing outstanding” overseas. The film’s worldwide collection, after a month of its release, stands at Rs 340 crore.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani business took a hit with other major releases. The Alia Bhatt starrer slowed down two weeks after its theatrical run, when Gadar 2 and OMG 2 hit the big screen on August 11. However, RARKPK did witness growth in its business on the Independence Day holiday, August 15, when it minted Rs 3.54 crore. It is the 4th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023 so far, only behind Pathaan, Gadar 2 and The Kerala Story.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani breaks Ranveer Singh’s dry spell 

With Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Alia Bhatt made a comeback in the romantic-comedy space. The genre seems to work well for her, as the film has minted ₹149.53 at the domestic box office. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is now the actress’ third-highest grosser, trailing RRR (Rs 772.1 cr) and Brahmastra (Rs 268.56 cr), as per Sacnilk.

While the movie has become a talking point in Alia Bhatt’s career, it has done wonders for Ranveer Singh as well. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has broken the actor’s dry spell at the box office after 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Cirkus. The film is the actor’s first commercial hit after the 2019 film Gully Boy.
