Allu Arjun To Star Alongside Ranveer Singh in '83'?
After Dulquer Salmaan, Allu Arjun is reportedly all set to make his Bollywood debut.
After Dulquer Salmaan, another superstar from South cinema is expected to make his Bollywood debut. According to reports, actor Allu Arjun will be setting foot in Bollywood with the Ranveer Singh starrer '83'. Allu Arjun will reportedly be seen playing the role of star batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth in the film which is based on India's historic 1983 Cricket World Cup win at Lords, London. The film will be helmed by director Kabir Khan.
Allu Arjun's last release 'Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India' which released on May 4, 2018, also got a Tamil release and shined at the box office. The actor, who is said to be proficient in the language, dubbed for the Tamil version of the film. Allu Arjun played a soldier in 'Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India' and reportedly underwent special training in the US to prepare for his role. The Vakkantham Vamsi directorial also starred Anu Emmanuel, Arjun Sarja, Sarath Kumar, Nadhiya, Vennela Kishore and Boman Irani. Prior to this, the superstar was seen in 'Duvvada Jagannadham' in which he played a double role. The film released on Eid 2017 and also starred Pooja Hegde who made her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in 'Mohenjo Daro' (2016).
Allu Arjun is also reportedly prepping for his Tamil debut with filmmaker Vikram K Kumar. Reports suggest that the actor will be starring alongside Samantha Akenini for a film to be directed by Kumar.
Talking about '83', Ranveer Singh will play the role of the former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev who led the team to a World Cup win in 1983. According to reports, Ranveer will be coached by none other than the man himself- the Haryana Hurricane, Kapil Dev. The former cricketer will reportedly be flying down to Mumbai for a week to train Ranveer not just in the sport but also his mannerisms and body language. Kapil Dev will also be training the actor to get his outward swing right. Ranveer is expected to train for one month and the film will reportedly go on floors by the month of December. '83' is expected to release in August 2019.
