Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

K3G, the film’s popular abbreviation remains to be one of the most-watched films amidst the Indian audiences. Real-life couple Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan played parents to Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Rohan (Hrithik Roshan). Bound by family status and Amitabh’s strong demeanour, both the children are expected to do what the father wants. Jaya, on the other hand, is a wishful mother in this movie. The film is etched into the Indian audience due to its exotic sets and location and gripping storyline. Unlike the other films in this list, this one is a true entertainer.

Abhiman

The film, which released back in 1973, is about a husband and wife played by Amitabh and Jaya whose relationship falls into a turmoil. The husband experiences a streak of jealousy when the wife outperforms him in her career. Abhiman was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. According to reports, the film was released just months after the duo’s real-life marriage.

Zanjeer

Amitabh achieved massive fame upon the release of Zanjeer. The film was also released in 1973, but before Abhiman. Zanjeer was directed by Prakash Mehra. The concept of an angry young man in Indian film cinema was established by Amitabh’s character in this film. Jaya Bachchan played the loves interest of Amitabh whose reel-name was Mala.

Silsila

Silsila was a romantic drama which showcased adultery in marriage and relationship. The film was released in the year 1981. The film is a classic with three megastars of the industry under the same banner. Rekha, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan were seen in a love triangle. According to reports, the film showed an average performance at the box office but remains to be a critically acclaimed movie.
