The comedy film has many meta-references in it, which give nod to the previous work of the lead actors. This was a subtle yet funny reference to Aamir Khan's previous hit film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Similarly, in one part of the film, Salman Khan's character says that he has watched the film Sholay 10 times, to which Aamir's character replies "Iske baap ne toh likhi hai".
