Anil Kapoor and Govinda: All the films they worked together in

Anil Kapoor and Govinda recently announced the sequel to their 1997 hit comedy film, Deewana Mastana. The sequel will be the next addition in the already long list of sequels in Bollywood. The announcement was made by the veteran actors on the couple dance reality show, Nach Baliye 9.

The duo had last shared screen space in Salaam-E-Ishq. Fans have not seen them together since 2006. The sequel will also have John Abraham as an addition to the original cast.

1. Awaargi (1990)

Anil Kapoor and Govinda starred together in the romance drama film. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, the film also starred Meenakshi Sheshadri in a lead role. The film received a lot of critical acclaim at the time. Its belong to the parallel cinema movement and is considered to be a classic.

2. Deewana Mastana (1997)

The romantic comedy starred Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Johnny Lever, Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo, Shakti Kapoor, Saeed Jaffrey, and Kader Khan in pivotal roles. Deewana Mastana was directed by David Dhawan. The film was also remade in Telugu as Nuvva Nena. It was inspired by the 1991 Hollywood comedy, What About Bob?

3. Salaam-E-Ishq (2007)

Salaam-E-Ishq had an ensemble cast including Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Govinda, Shannon Esra, Akshaye Khanna, Ayesha Takia, Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar. The film revolved around the love life of 12 people. It was a remake of the Hollywood movie Love Actually. However, it received a lot of flak from the critics and turned out to be a commercial flop.

Anil Kapoor and Govinda met together on Nach Baliye sets after a long time. The duo were reportedly happy to see each other. While praising Anil Kapoor, Govinda said Anil is one of the most genuine and cordial people that he has met. Fans are excited to see the duo come together onscreen after almost 12 years.
