Emotional Boney Kapoor accepts award on behalf of Sridevi

Boney Kapoor is a renowned film producer who has several box-office hit movies to his credit. In the year 1996, he married actor Sridevi. ANR National Awards function was held in Hyderabad on Sunday. In the function, many prominent personalities of Hindi and Telugu film industries were seen together. In the event, actor Rekha and late actor Sridevi were awarded the ANR award for their contribution to the Indian film industry. Filmmaker Boney Kapoor received the award on the behalf of his late wife Sridevi. She was honoured with the ANR Award for her outstanding contributions to the Indian film industry. 

Sridevi is regarded as the first female superstar of Indian cinema. The late actor has starred in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She had started her acting career at a very young age, working as a child actor in many films, In the year 1971, she had received an award for the best child actor at the Kerala State Film Awards. In the year 1996, she tied the knots with renowned filmmaker Boney Kapoor and together, they have two children.

Boney Kapoor, who accepted the ANR award on behalf of his deceased-wife, said that he is sure that Sridevi would have felt humbled to receive this award and he accepts this on her behalf with humility. Sridevi has tragically passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai and it was very unfortunate for the Kapoor family. Boney Kapoor was seen at the event along with many prominent people of the Indian film industry including Chiranjeevi, A. Nagarjuna, and others.
