Anushka Sharmas’s brilliant response to Farokh Engineer’s recent comment about ‘selectors serving her tea’ and all the controversies she has been dragged into, became the talking point on social media. Even Bollywood stars gave the actor the thumbs up for her scathing response. Arjun Kapoor was one of the celebrities who felt she had ‘hit it out of the park’.
Moments after Anushka Sharma’s hard hitting post, Arjun responded in the same manner as a commentator would describe a massive six in cricket. He wrote, “She hits it out f the park 🔥🔥🔥. massive strike huge hit it’s outta here !!! 👏👏👏.” (sic)
Ranveer Singh and Riteish Deshmukh were some of the celebrities who expressed their delight over Anushka’s strongly-worded post. Ranveer called it 'hard' like his Gully Boy character would say. Riteish wrote, "More power to you."
Anushka lashed out at all the posts and allegations that dragged her name, be it then boyfriend and now husband Virat Kohli’s performance during the 2015 World Cup, or overstaying with Virat on tours more than the stipulated time authorised, or even being a part of the closed-doors meetings and influencing the selection process. She also reacted to the controversies relating to her tickets and how the BCCI seemed 'bothered' about her 'security.' The Zero star also opened up on the row over being the only cricketer’s wife in the picture with the High Commissioner in London.
" My name was used for false stories to make it look like the Board was being bothered for my tickets or security etc. When in reality I bought my own tickets for matches and flights and I still kept quiet. I was asked to stand in a group photo by the High Commissioner's wife despite my hesitation to be in it and a huge issue was created over this blaming me for intentionally wanting to be a part of it and the said event, even though I was invited for it. An official clarification was issued by the Board on the same and I still kept quiet," she wrote.
She also added, “Today, I have decided to speak up because somebody’s silence can’t be taken as their weakness. I am not and will not be a pawn to be used by anyone’s thoughts or beliefs or agendas and next time you want to use my name to discredit someone or the board or even my husband, do it with facts and proof & leave me OUT of it. I have led my life, built my own career with utmost dignity and I am not going to compromise that for anything. Maybe, it’s hard for some to believe that, because, I am a self-made, independent woman who only happens to be the wife of a cricketer."
