Here is a comparison of Arjun Kapoor & Akshay Kumar from their respective roles in Namaste England and Namaste London. Read here to know more about them
The first movie which we can remember that had the kind of concept where India and Indias were represented was in Purab Aur Paschim. In the movie Purab Aur Paschim, Manoj Kumar sings a song titled Hai Preet Jahan ki reet sada where he sang the things India has given to the world. With a similar concept, Namaste London and Namaste England movies were also made to show that Indians love India and follow the culture that they have learned over the years. Let's look at the roles of Arjun Kapoor to Akshay Kumar from their movies Namaste London and Namaste England.
Arjun Kapoor Vs Akshay Kumar
We learn that Arjun has studied from an agricultural university and is interested in farming. He is an easy-going and jolly person who meets and falls in love with a girl. On the other hand, we learn that Akshay was from a small town and did not know the English language. Akshay’s character did not love Jasmeet / Jazz but it was an arranged marriage which was fixed by their parents.
In both the movies, the women were more inclined towards the idea of a western culture whereas the men wanted to live the life they were born and brought up in. Akshay Kumar goes to London by himself after marrying Jasmeet. But Arjun Kapoor has to go there illegally due to a misunderstanding and fight with Gurpreet.
Later, in both the movies, the women want to marry other men to fulfil their dream. And both the heroes want to regain the love they had for each other. Arjun takes help of Alisha, who is a friend of Jasmeet and will help Jasmeet realise the love she has for Arjun. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar knows that Jazz still loves him and he does win her heart back with the help of Jazz’s father and his sheer wit. In some ways, the heroes are same, but some notable differences between Akshay Kumar and Arjun Kapoor are that one went to win his love back from the English culture Jazz had become a part of and Arjun had to fight the social stigma of women not being allowed to work in India.
