In the viral photo, Athiya and KL Rahul can be seen offering prayers to Lord Karthikeya. The actress can be seen in a printed suit, while KL Rahul sported an all-white ensemble. The couple prayed at the shrine and received shawls from the temple priests, who also gave them a history lesson about the site.

The temple visit came after KL Rahul skipped the ongoing Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. Ajit Agarkar, the Chief Selector for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has issued an update on KL Rahul's health, saying that the batsman is recovering from an injury. He should be fully recovered in time to compete in the Asia Cup's latter rounds.

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul met each other through a mutual friend in 2019. They clicked instantly and soon began dating. The couple kept their relationship under wraps for quite some time.
