Dream Girl hit the silver screen on September 13. It has received positive to mediocre reviews by the critics. The film centres around Karam who is struggling for employment and starts working at a 'Friendship Call Centre'. By using a seductive female voice, Karam starts talking to lonely men and be their friend over the phone. This leads to a lot of confusion as situations unforeseen arise. The film is a romantic comedy with all the elements of a successful Hindi film thrown in.

Ayushmann and Nusrat

Talking about Ayushmann and Nusrat's Jodi in the film, the romance is as good as non-existent. Nusrat is not given much to do with her role, which makes her dialogues feel repetitive in the film. Nusrat and Ayushmann's love story is not the driving force of the film, which is why it is not developed enough. With a run-time of 137 minutes, Dream Girl is a crisply written and directed, which does not allow the movie to wander too far away in the romance direction. Nusrat Bharucha's role could have been credited as a cameo, and it wouldn't be offending. The film is directed by Raj Shaandilyaa who has previously written movies like Freaky Ali and Welcome back. Talking about the box office performance, the movie has opened up to be Ayushmann's best first-day collection till date.
