Bachchan in his blog summarised the whole idea of New Year's Eve and beginning a new year.

It is the time and age when you sit by yourself with your ‘self’ and acknowledge the joy and wishes and greetings of loved ones .. they in a world of their joy , in distant lands .. brought together by the manufactured technology of the day .. 

.. and you go back in time to those early years and the winter fires in the sitting room and the ghost stories and the dry fruits , the blankets and shawls wrapped in a sharing among all and the stroke of the ‘midnight your’ .. the wishes and happiness ..

.. the independent years of the new .. the freedom and the gang revelry at party residences or savings to enter the special evenings at high flying restaurants and clubs ..

.. and the workings of seeking professionals and on work sets , determined to bring in that which is new and pure and to be bringing the happiness of the year change …

Seek not what went by .. seek where the next 365 will be .. set and get down to its expectation and resolve .. sitting back creates uncertainty of the morrow .. will the existence be able and capable, will there be enough for the enough .. the goading then to bend down pull them up and put the body in mobility yearnings to conduct the daily."
