Badshah started his career besides rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh in his band. He then split from Singh and went on to release his single Kar Gayi Chull that was also later used in the Bollywood film, Kapoor & Sons. He was also later named the 63rd richest celebrity in India by Forbes magazine.
Badshah’s single, DJ Waley Babu, even featured on the first position on the Indian iTunes charts within about 24 hours of releasing. Badshah has rendered many hit numbers in films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Khoobsurat. As the rapper-singer turns a year older today, here is a look at some of his hit collaborations with other artists.
1. The Humma Song
The original song, Humma Humma, by AR Rahman, was composed for Mani Ratnam's Bombay. It was later re-released as The Humma Song for OK Jaanu. Badshah gave the song a breath of fresh air. He gave the classic song a modern, hippier upgrade along with Tanishk Bagchi.
2. Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai
Badshah collaborated with DJ Waley Babu singer Aastha Gill for this party number. The song was a part of the Sonam Kapoor-starrer film, Khoobsurat’s soundtrack. The song also featured Sonam Kapoor and Badshah dancing to the tunes of the song in some hilarious dance steps.
3. Kala Chashma
Kala Chashma became the party anthem of 2016 soon after it was released. The song was a part of the Katrina Kaif-Sidharth Malhotra starrer Baar Baar Dekho. The Punjabi swag in the song made it a fun number to tap your feet to. Badshah collaborated with Prem Hardeep and Neha Kakkar to put together this song.
4. Tareefan
Tareefan was a part of Shashanka Ghosh’s comedy film Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania. Badshah collaborated with Qaran for the song.
