The actor is gearing up for his next release, Bala, along with Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam. While the film has been lauded for its gripping trailer and unique star-cast, Bala is being compared to the South-Indian hit Ondu Motteya Kathe. The Raj. B Shetty directorial, Ondu Motteya Kathe chronicles the story of a bald man and focuses on his struggles with his physical appearance. Similarities between Bala and Ondu Motteya Kathe

Bala addresses the sensitive issue of premature baldness in men and chronicles the story of a young man who suffers from early baldness. Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in prominent roles, Ayushmann Khurrana is seen portraying the character of a college professor in the movie. The audience will witness Bhumi Pednekar in a never-seen-before avatar in Bala, as the actor will be essaying a dark-skinned student.

While Bala ridicules social stereotypes with its unique story plot, Ondu Motteya Kathe too manages to redefine the meaning of beauty with its unconventional storyline. Starring R. B Shetty in the leading role, Ondu Motteya Kathe chronicles the story of a Mangalorean professor who deals with premature baldness. Ondu Motteya Kathe, which also stars Shreya Anachan in a pivotal role, was a success down south. Shreya is seen in a new avatar in the film, as the actor essays the character of a girl who is overweight.
