Bhumi Pednekar turns 'Climate Warrior', launches pan India campaign

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar recently voiced her concern towards the ongoing climate change and launched a pan India campaign called 'Climate Warrior'

In the past couple of years, several celebrities are coming forward to advocate for several social causes. Now, Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar joined the bandwagon as she voiced her concern towards the ongoing climate change and water crisis. Using her star power in the right direction, Bhumi Pednekar launched a pan India campaign - "Climate Warrior" - to raise awareness on the same. 

Climate Warrior is an initiative which focuses on awareness building about the impending crisis. As described by Bhumi Pednekar Climate Warrior will give a platform to several climate activists to talk about sustainability and environment-friendly life choices. Bhumi Pednekar announced and explained the initiative to her followers in a recent social media video.

Talking about the same, she said,  "Climate Warrior is my attempt to start a dialogue with people who work tirelessly to save the environment and highlight the crisis that we find ourselves in due to climate change. "

While addressing her followers Bhumi Pednekar said that she acknowledged the fact the 'urban class' is the 'biggest abuser' of natural resources and said that the Climate Warriors will 'keep reminding people that climate change is real.'

"It will champion the efforts of these warriors regularly and ask people to participate in saving our planet because the threat to humanity is imminent and the time to act is now," Bhumi Pednekar stated.

Believing in the power of sustainability, the actor said, "I care about conserving my planet, care deeply about our next generations and sincerely hope that more and more people will join hands to protect our future that we are all set to share."

What's next for Bhumi Pednekar

On the professional front, Bhumi Pednekar who last featured in â€˜Sonchiriya’ alongside Manoj Bajpayee, Sushant Singh Rajput and others, has a number of releases lined up this year. The 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' actress will be next seen in Tushar Hiranandani’s ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, which is scheduled for an October release. She will be also starring in 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare', 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh', 'Takht' and 'Bala'.
