Bobby Deol to star in Shahrukh Khan's Netflix movie 'Class of 83'?

Bobby Deol was last seen in the movie ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se’. The actor is now set to make his debut on the OTT platform, Netflix with a movie. The movie is titled ‘‘Class of 83’ ’’. This Netflix film is produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. It is directed by Atul Sabharwal. The makers have made it clear that film has no similarity with Ranveer Singh’s upcoming movie, ’83.

The story of the Netflix Original is about an upright policeman who turns into a trainer and his students fight with complexities of honour, morals, and devotion to the nation. Bobby Deol would be seen in the lead role. However, other cast and crew of the movie are yet to be finalized. Shahrukh Khan’s first-ever collaboration with Netflix was 'Bard of Blood'. The Emraan-Hashmi-starrer recently started streaming on Netflix. It is a story based on a book by Bilal Siddiqi with the same name.

Bobby Deol also expressed his excitement for the venture by tweeting about it. He wrote, ‘Excited to venture into the web world’. Bobby quoted to a news source that he is looking forward to the project. He added that he has been in the industry for a long time and has known Shah Rukh for years. He described Shah Rukh as a great guy and expressed his happiness on Shahrukh producing the project. He described Khan as a person 'very dedicated to his work'.

Deol expressed his desire to work on a digital platform, but he was waiting for the right project. He informed, for actors who want to play different kinds of characters, the web serves as an amazing platform. But you have to choose the right project. He exclaimed that he couldn't do anything and everything. He went on to say that there is plenty of work, but it is important to make the right choice. Bobby Deol would be seen next in the movie ‘Housefull 4’, teaming up with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh.

Red Chillies Entertainment produced the movie ‘Badla’ recently. The movie was a super hit at the box-office. Shahrukh Khan’s venture with Netflix has a purpose. In his recent interview with a news portal, he talked about those projects which cannot be a part of the theatre and require a platform. He talked about those missed opportunities for showcasing small films due to the absence of a platform.
