Bollywood is known to deliver films across all genres in a unique manner. Here is a list of movies that were shot around some famous Indian college campuses.

Bollywood has a huge influence on the youth, which is why the industry focuses on youth-oriented movies that revolve around the complexities faced by the young generation in everyday lives. The storytelling has evolved over time in terms of writing as well as shooting locations. From shooting on fake sets to using some real-time locations are used to shoot the films. Variety of youth-centric movies have been shot at several schools and colleges around India. Here are some of the amazing college campuses where some blockbuster movies have been shot.
1: Rang De Basanti:
Rang De Basanti has always been one of the iconic films of Aamir Khan. The story was based on the lives of six friends that assist a foreign film-maker to shoot a documentary on Indian freedom fighters. In the course of shooting the gang re-lives the saga of freedom. The saga of freedom and the fight for justice was shot in different parts of the Delhi University campus.
2: Raanjhanaa:
Raanjhanaa is the movie that showcases the love of Hindu boy Kundan to his childhood sweetheart Zoya. The movie also showcases how things change when Zoya gets in Indian Institute of Mass Communication at Jawaharlal Nehru University. The political and idealistic environment inside of the JNU is showcased perfectly in the movie. The movie was also shot inside IIMC for a realistic effect.

Shahid Kapoor's movie Ishq Vishk also featured Amrita Rao and Shehnaz Treasurywala besides him in the lead role. The movie was shot at the well-known Sophia College in Mumbai. The movie revolves around the lives of Rajiv (Shahid Kapoor), Payal (Amrita Rao) and Alisha (Shehnaz Treasurywala) college students. The movie also came up with the social issue of molestation.
4: Band Baaja Baaraat:
Band Baaja Baarat was the movie that revolved around the lives of Shruti and Bittoo. They both wanted to become partners in their very own wedding planning 'binnes' in Delhi. The story showcases their process from being friends to lovers to finding one another. The movie's famous bread pakora scene was shot at Hansraj College, Delhi University. The song Tarkeebein captures the campus roads, the boys’ hostel and the classroom. A few scenes are also shot inside Ramjas College’s gallery.
5: Munna Bhai MBBS:
The most iconic movie Munna Bhai MBBS was shot at the large campus of Grant Medical College, Mumbai. The most loved scene the 'Jadoo ki Jhappi' that made rounds was captured in the campus of the same college. Not just that scene but even the iconic Boman Irani giving a lecture to Munna meeting his childhood love all was shot inside the Grant Medical college campus.
6: Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa:
St. Xavier's is one of the most prestigious colleges in India. The beautiful campus is one of the best locations to shoot advertisements and movies. The movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa showcases the story of two best friends that convince themselves that they do not love each other and go out to find perfect matches for one another but end up together. The college scenes of the movie was shot inside the St.Xaviers campus. Even Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was shot inside the same campus.
7: Bodyguard:
Symbiosis University in Pune is one of the most prestigious institutions in India. Symbiosis University has been a popular site for several television serials and movies, it is the same place where the superhit movie Bodyguard was shot. This famous college in Bollywood movie was the place where the love story of Divya and her bodyguard, Lovely Singh was witnessed by the audiences. The film surely covered all the major locations of the campus like canteen, library, and classroom.
