Iconic Bollywood movies starring South Indian actors in lead roles

Bollywood and Tollywood always have had a strong connection. There are a lot of Bollywood actors like Aishwarya Rai, Sridevi and Asin who have started their acting career with Tamil movies. The vice versa has also happened that Tamil actors have played lead characters in Bollywood movies. Here is a list of five such Bollywood movies:

Saaho 

The 2019 release Saaho starred the famous Telugu actor, Prabhas and Shradhha Kapoor. The action-thriller reportedly tanked at the box-office. However, Prabhas' action scenes were appreciated by critics and audiences alike. He performed some high octane scenes in the movie. Raanjhaana 

This Bollywood movie released in the year 2013. It cast the South-Indian star, Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the lead roles. The movie is set in the heritage city of Benaras and is a story of a Hindu boy persistent in his efforts to win the heart of a Muslim girl. Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein

This 2001 Bollywood release starred the Tamil superstar, Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza. The movie is about a girl who is torn between two boys, both of whom are in love with her. The movie was reportedly a hit at the box-office. It also marked the Bollywood debut of both Madhavan and Dia Mirza. Chachi 420

Chachi 420 is one of the iconic movies in Bollywood. It starred the legendary South-Indian actor, Kamal Hassan, Tabu and Amrish Puri. The movie is about a father who cross-dresses as a nanny to win back his wife and daughter. However, a funny turn of incidents occurs when his father-in-law falls in love with his disguised self. Love

This Bollywood released in 1991 and featured the Tamil actor, Revathy, and Salman Khan. The movie is about a girl and boy who want to get married but the girl's mother objects to their match owing to the boy's past. This movie was Revathy's Bollywood debut.
