Boman Irani reveals how he gave a nod to his upcoming film Jhalki

The trailer of Jhalki, starring Boman Irani is out. Jhalki deals with the social issues of child labour and trafficking. The social-drama also features Tannishtha Chatterjee, Divya Dutta, Sanjay Suri and child actor Arti Jha in lead characters. The film will unfold the struggles of a 9-year-old girl Jhalki searching for her brother Babu, who has disappeared. The film has been shot in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The trailer was released for the first time this year at the Cannes Film Festival, and the film has been screened at the Boston International Film Festival too. The film will be theatrically released in India and worldwide on November 14, 2019.
Boman Irani will be seen playing the character inspired by Nobel laureate and activist Kailash Satyarthi. Talking about working in the project with a leading daily, the Bhootnath Returns actor said that he was writing his own film when he received the offer for the film. He said that after a few minutes the message flashed again, and he responded immediately typing 'Done' in reply. He also mentioned that he takes time to respond to the movie offers.
Actor Sanjay Suri also said in an interview with a news portal that child labour is a global issue, and when the team of Jhalki was travelling with the film internationally, they noted an impact on the audience. He added that the film critics came up to the team and praised the content ignoring the technical imperfections in the film. He also mentioned that the little technical imperfection is irrelevant considering its vision. The makers did not want to intellectualise the story but intended to maintain the simplicity of the narration, so that the film can impact children as well, as added by the actor.
