Box office: ‘Super 30’, ‘The Lion King’ accomplish milestones as they draw impressive number of footfalls

It’s good times at the box office as ‘Super 30’, ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Kabir Singh’ continued their fine run. While the Hrithik Roshan-starrer entered the Rs 100-crore club, the international live-action venture too hit the Rs 50-crore milestone over the weekend. Even after a month of its release, ‘Kabir Singh’ is still earning over Rs 1 crore during the weekend.

It’s good times at the box office as ‘Super 30’, ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Kabir Singh’ continued their fine run. While the Hrithik Roshan-starrer entered the Rs 100-crore club, the international live-action venture too hit the Rs 50-crore milestone over the weekend. Even after a month of its release, ‘Kabir Singh’ is still earning over Rs 1 crore during the weekend. 

Starting from the latest, ‘The Lion King’, became only the second Hollywood film after ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to earn Rs 50 crore over the weekend this year, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Even, overall, it is third on the list of highest opening weekends for Hollywood, behind ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ 

After Rs 54.75 crore weekend, even on the first working day of the week,  ‘The Lion King’ remained solid, earning Rs 7.90 crore to take the collections to Rs 62.65 crore. 

On the other hand, ‘Super 30’ showed impressive growth, earning close to Rs 25 crore over the weekend, to enter the Rs 100-crore club over the weekend.

Even on its second Monday, it earned Rs 3.60 crore to take the total to Rs 104.18 crore. 

Meanwhile, ‘Kabir Singh’ has consolidated its position as the highest-grossing film of the year, taking its total to Rs  271.24 crore, after earning Rs 5 crore over the weekend.
