Deepika Padukone: Who is her favourite co-actor? No, it isn't Ranveer!

Just like everyone else Deepika Padukone also has a favourite co-actor. One might think it is her husband Ranveer Singh, but she has another favourite. Deepika Padukone kicked off her Bollywood debut next to Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. In the following years, Deepika Padukone was in the lead role in a total of three movies next to Shah Rukh Khan, i.e. Chennai Express and Happy New Year.

Deepika Padukone's favourite co-star?

In the 2015 release Piku, Deepika was portraying the role of a perfect daughter. The movie showed the ideal relationship between a stubborn father, Bhashkor Banerjee, whose character was portrayed by Mr Amitabh Bachchan, and his loving daughter Piku Banerjee (Deepika Padukone). In Piku, Deepika Padukone was seen acting alongside two best actors of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan.

Deepika revealed that Irrfan Khan was her favourite co-star. She also added that the film Piku would not have been special if Irrfan had not been a part of the film. Deepika mentioned that she and Irrfan pushed each other to give their best shot in the movie. On being asked about working with Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika said that she was in awe of the veteran actor, the experience was similar to the time she first worked with Shah Rukh Khan.

Deepika-Irrfan second collaboration delayed

Reportedly, Deepika and Irrfan were to collaborate for the second time in a gangster thriller, produced by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film was based on author-reporter S Hussain Zaidi's book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. But this project was temporarily put on hold as Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. 

Recently Deepika has wrapped up the shooting for her movie Chhapaak, which is set to release on January 10, 2020. The movie is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika will also be portraying the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Bhatia in his biopic 83 The Film. In the film, Ranveer Singh will be portraying the character of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev.
